WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF FRANKLIN SQUARE
MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor Nelson is enthusiastic, evangelical, and eager to help each, and every person discovers their personal place in God’s kingdom. His warmth and spirituality convey his deep love of Christ. One can immediately feel the joy that he brings.
In addition to his ministry at Wesley UMC, Pastor is the Protestant chaplain at Long Island University (CW Post campus). He also speaks 7 languages fluently and is an official translator at the United Methodist General (World) Conference.
While serving as Pastor, Chaplain, and translator, the Pastor is also a devoted husband and father. Because of his unique experiences, he brings a new dimension to serving God. We are honored to have him as our spiritual leader.

OUR CHURCH
Mission Statement
The mission of the greater United Methodist Church is “Open hearts, open minds, open doors”. Wesley United Methodist Church subscribes to this mission. We strive to make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are a church family that works together to spread the word and love of God. Our hearts are in the community and the community is in our hearts. We wish to continue sharing this commitment through love, peace, and service. We are a faith congregation that openly welcomes all people.
Wesley UMC has been an important part of the Franklin Square community since 1948. We are a member of the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. We are a warm family of Christians who gather regularly for worship, study, prayer, and fellowship. We are committed to spreading God’s word and bringing people to Jesus.
In addition to being a spiritual home, Wesley UMC serves a wide variety of community-based organizations.
